Wikipedia has a pretty informative piece just on Obidos, Portugal. Also, a free Kindle download of the Lonely Planet book on Portugal has a small section on Obidos and a nice overview of Portugal even if it does have a few inaccuracies. And you can even see the walls and castle from an overview using Google Earth.
