One of the main reasons for my little trip in Spain a couple of weeks ago was to visit Valladolid to see the former homes of Miguel Cervantes and Cristóbal Colón (Christopher Columbus).  Cervantes finished his most notable work in the house at the end of the 1500s.  Don Quixote, published in 1605, is considered one of the greatest works of fiction ever published and Cervantes is often called "the Man Who Created Modern Fiction."
