Happy Anniversary Blubelle : )
Just a little over ten years ago I purchased my 2003 Honda VTX 1300s.Rode her home after work nervous as a kitten, yet loving the feeling of knowing this bike was mine, come what may,for better or worse.Of course to make matters interesting that very same evening we encountered our first bit of rain together and I quickly realized what a sweet handling ride I was on.She handled perfectly and was reassuring on the twistys in the canyon after coming over the ridge. The wet didnt phase her,and the bike felt planted. Blubelle has been a good bike to me,and she has always brought me safely home.I have nearly 60,000 miles of smiles on her,n hope to have another 160,000 more
Cant believe it has been this long, and how much I have to be thankfull for having this bike as my ride.Still get compliments on her color n look, she still turns heads at a light.
Little did I realize when I bought the bike what a following it would develop over the years. The VTX1300 is a different bike from the VTX1800 which I almost purchased, yet after riding & comparing the two bikes, weight , road feel, balance etc I choose the 1300.Another plus was the single pin motor, which my buddy told me sounded more Harley than his 03 DynaI am amused by the folks who stroll up n say nice Harley,I just smile n say thanks LOL its always good for a laugh.
The amount of custom items has skyrocketed since the early days, and recently seen some custom bagger work coming out of SE Asia by a fellow VTX rider that is incredible.Sadly enough Honda has discontinued the VTX line of bikes, of which mine was assembled at the now closed factory in Ohio. The bike has built quite a reputation, among us owners, of being a reliable mount, built to last and fairly easy to customize.
Here is a picture of her back in 2002,portside in Oakland Ca. basically brand new
Happy Anniversary Blubelle !!!
