The problems associated with owning a bike thats 16 years old, is that parts start to wear out. Take for instance the other day i was out riding and stopped to buy some cigs..locked the bikes ignition, and went across a street, and into a shop. Came back stuck the key into the ignition, and the barrel came out with the key. It didn't unlock, so i spent 15 minutes playing with it, before i get the ignition to turn and thus start the bike. It's not a big deal..but its a pain in the arse. Now i got to do this crap every time i shut the bike down. The older the bike the more fiddly little problems seem to occur. My sons bike is 93 Fxr..his contacts in his starter went..on a weekend. hey no probs..but we were away in Qld..Come monday at the auto electrician found out that Toyota parts fit FXR's go figure...so it was a cheap fix..the bike starts like its brand new now...No wind on, just boom!
So now i 'm wondering what my 96 springer is going to show me next...
Happy motoring..
Jsy...
