female learning to ride by herself
so here it goes. Got the bike up and going and well the boyfriend is no longer in the picture (left way before the bike was ready). Got the bike up and going and well the boyfriend is no longer in the picture (left way before the bike was ready). So took it out on the side roads -- nervous as can be (found out that isn't cool on handleing the bike so had to keep telling myself to relax -- helped until got into s bit of traffic). A person I met took me to the school to practice and was totally different and more relaxed. Problem is I don't have that opportunity very often so it's on my own basically. YES I will be doing the riders safety course WHEN I can afford to but right now out of the picture. So how did you learn on your own and not be so scared of everything?!?!  less

The Bond between you and your pet

I woke up yesterday sick as hell with a bug of some sort, and couldn't get off the couch all day. After about 2 hours on the couch I noticed Dudley would either lay on a foot stool right next to the couch, get on the back of the couch, or then every once in a while he would jump up on me to see if I was still alive I guess, but Dudley NEVER left my side all day long. As crazy as it sounds my little buddy seemed to be concerned about me, and just would not leave my side. How do animals know these things, about the people they spend time around. Maybe if humans could maintain this kind of bond there would be less divorces, and a better quality of life for us all. Just wondering Night Dragon  less

Now I'm taking the big leap from the bike I learned to ride on (Kawasaki 250) to my 1100.  We're planning on going out and practicing on parking lots starting tomorrow and continuing until I'm comfortable enough to get on the road.  From there I'll probably take another rider's course that will help me fine-tune some things.  Michael (the bf) thinks I'll get it in no time.  I feel like it's a bit of a challenge, but do-able. Still, just like taking the MSP I'm a bit nervous, wondering if I'm taking on too much.  So----my question is do any of you ride a larger bike and what were your...    less

To speed or not to speed that is the question
I was wondering just how many of  you out there ride faster then the speed limits? I have a couple of friends that ride 10 to 15 miles an hr faster then the speed limit, if its 75 they'll drive 90, if it's 70 they will do 85. Me personally I will ride at the speed limit, my philoshy is get there safely no matter what time you get to your destination. But this friends must just the speed or they have a death wish. Personally I've fallen once and don't want to do it again( as you can read on my profile). With this in mind what is the norm out there ?  less

I have two miniature Australian Shepard's and if someone hurt them, I would have to claim temporary insanity as my defense at the trial. I care for them more than most people. They make me smile and laugh every day. They ride with us on our bikes and love to go.

Good pictures! That road is most certainly a must ride for everybody at least once. Last time I did it, I had 16 stops in 11 miles waiting for my wife to catch up. LOL

Look up the "ride like a pro" video's on Youtube and maybe even purchase your own and you will see that the size of the bike has very little to do with the actual riding. Well worth it to check it out.
