  R.I.P Jack

   On Dec.25 My friend- mentor and fellow rider Jack Haggerty was struck and killed walking across the road in front of his home by a 16 year old driver. I Pray that both Families find strenght . Peace Jack

  Post knee surgery

  Well you can't really call arthroscopic surgery in the real sense but man do I feel better.  Before the procedure I was as weak as all get out; in both legs.  It was such an effort to do anything that I even got short of breath.  But...  moreWell you can't really call arthroscopic surgery in the real sense but man do I feel better.  Before the procedure I was as weak as all get out; in both legs.  It was such an effort to do anything that I even got short of breath.  But 3 days later Oh MAN!!!!!  I'm ready to run sprints.  LOL  Not really but it is remarkable how good I feel.   Hell, even my shattered left knee isn't hurting.   I'll be able to stand for our wedding on the first.    I found CycleFish while researching info on the Redwood Run In Nor Cal. I grew up in that area and spent many a summer on the River in Garberville. Excited to plan that trip and find this site.

  I know there's been a post or two about colonoscopys here.  When the time comes don't make any excuses.  Don't put it off.  For years the VA asked if I wanted one.  I said, "No".   They never...  more I know there's been a post or two about colonoscopys here.  When the time comes don't make any excuses.  Don't put it off.  For years the VA asked if I wanted one.  I said, "No".   They never pressed the issue.  It was only when my family doctor scared the bejesus out of me that I relented.  Today I discovered that I was "just in time".  For all practical purposes the doctor said he didn't feel the two polyps he removed were malignant but that because one was pretty big, I'm going to have to have another procedure next year.  While preparing the day/night before is a bit uncomfortable, the procedure itself is absolutely painless and well worth any inconvenience.   Plus your arse is surrounded by some pretty nice looking nurses. After my family physician told me, "when you have pain your survival rate is less than 20%" I was really apprehensive and worrying what they might...    less
