    • LCStrat I think its great that more women enjoy riding. I know some in my area, they are great ladies, and love to get out and ride with a group, or solo. I see ladies on both sport bikes, but mostly cruisers. You've got to admire a girl that gets on two wheels...  moreI think its great that more women enjoy riding. I am proud to be among the rising number of women riders. It definately gives me more confidence and pride when I ride my own. Learning to ride has been the biggest and most difficult accomplishment in my entire life. With riding, I can at least say " I did this for me!!!!! " And will enjoy it for as long as I am able!!!!

    • derail1969 I have a cruiser for now, but I am looking to get a dirt bike in the future. Seeing as how I started off in off road biking real young, it doesn't hurt to have a bike for every occasion!!

    • BikerKat2004 I ride a 2004 Honda VTX 1300cc, the biggest bike I could find that fit me. I stand 5'3" tall or short to some of you towering people. I may not roar but my bad ass bike does. Yehaw. I got him from a man, by the way. : )

This is my third bike I have owned and the fourth I have ridden on the front since 1990. You will not see me on the back unless it is my funeral.

    • koach254 My wife just completed her safety course and is now a licensed motorcyclist. It seemed to us that riding one up on desperate bikes felt safer. She also has become a more conscious driver. I'm proud to share the road with her.

When I first started ridin' a "street bike", there weren't a whole lotta other ladies, out there. And We'd get the inevitable comments about "dikes on bikes"...very discouraging at the time, altho, I pretty much laff about it all, now. Back then, we just wanted to ride (cause we could, not cause we were tryin' to be like the guys). On the contrary, it wasn't about proving anything to anyone (except maybe ourselves).

And while all the stats up yonder, make some kind of sense, if ya ask a Lady why she rides, you're probably gonna hear the same thing you hear when you ask any other rider that. The FREEDOM. God, nature, an open road, and a full tank of gas...ain't NUTHIN' better'n that. PERIOD.

      Just my two...

I live in NW Indiana & last season was my 1st.  I racked up over 8,000 miles.  Doesn't sound like much, but my 883 Hugger & I ran 70+ down to the Smoky's & I did the Dragon twice & LOVED it:)
