A Springfield XD 9mm. We got the Subcompact, but I don't like using the grip extensions on the full size magazines, they just dont feel right when reloading and the sub magazines just make me feel like I don't have enough ammo if I needed it. So the sub will be the new backup.

I'm with you fxrdude, I kinda like the Kimbers also but, they are awfully pricey!

I have not owned a Kimber, but have shot one....very nice weapon, just can't justify the cost that's all.
Actually I owned one of the model 85 Tarurs 38 special wheel guns.......nice back up piece, and priced right.

I think Kimber's are like putting a bow on your pecker.......it will still do the job, except it just look's nicer with a bow on it.

Any prior service military can somewhat easily get a State of Florida carry permit through the mail. This will allow you to carry in about 29 states total. It is about as close to national carry as you can get right now.

I went to a farm auction yesterday where they were selling several firearms. While there were some very nice and interesting guns there, they also went for a very high price. Now I realize guns are not neccesarily cheap only two of the guns went for what I would consider a fair price. One was a ten gauge double barrel shotgun. The colt AR-15 sold for almost two thousand which I thiught was a liitle on the high side. But it was still neat to check out and reminds you not to underestimate an old farmer
