Sturgis Bound?

They are defo spreading out! Sturgis is allowing vendors to set up a full week early and open 3 days early this year. And area towns are also adding more attractions, campgrounds, etc. to spread things out. From Gillette, WY to Murdo, SD to Hot Springs, SD to Alzada, MT; things just keep spreading! I have no doubt that some of the "cowboy" cops out here will be on the look out for anything that will bring revenue, so be careful. While there is no longer a handlebar height limit in WY, it is still shoulder high in SD, one beer out of 6 pack constitutes "open container" and lack of baffles will all earn money for SD! So be careful out there! HA is increasing their presence in the downtown area with at least 6 "support" shops, but SOS is also making an effort to make their presence known; as well as a few others. So let's be aware out there!

Were looking for someone that can stay at the space for most of the week.

They were already getting a lot new rules before this. Quiet time, no blocking traffic for beads, no outside alcohol, etc....now they are going to have to have laws and a police force on site. That place has been a pit since day one and only keeps getting worse.

Incorporating the "Chip" will now make it eligible for federal funding (grants and super low interest loans) with infrastructure costs such as public safety, water, sewer & streets.
Now one wonders if "city owned" property will be exempt from property taxes?
In addition "The Chip" can now assess a city sales tax, bed and booze tax, even a four or more wheels tax which will go a long ways in helping reduce out of pocket expense for the required match to get the government grants and loans.
Which was once a private concern is now subsidized by the tax payers for once a year and extremely profitable entertainment.

I don't like it either but then again, after a total of 16 trips to the rally I've pretty much had enough of that rally. For years I thought there would be another city created outside of Sturgis but I never thought the owners of BC would be the one. God I'm one old s.o.b.

    Peace

I've been there every single year for the last 30 years and couple stray years before that. But for me it is like a family reunion. Since I moved away, this is the only time of year I get to meet up with a lot of my friends and family from home. I am there for 2 weeks, go downtown twice, take 3 rides and the rest of the time is spent socializing on the campground with my peeps!

I will never get "too old" or "experienced" for that!
