About Our Business
We are located in the beautiful sprawling countryside of Washington County, NY, only miles from Fort William Henry in Lake George , historic Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs and the beautiful Green Mountains of Vermont. Perfect motorcycle riding, whichever direction you choose.
Started by Motorcycle Hall of Famer and BSA Factory Racer, Tom McDermott was the first American to earn a gold medal in the International Six Days Trial, the ISDT. He also competed in AMA Nationals during the '50s and scored four top-five finishes in the Daytona 200. Stop into the showroom and check out his fully restored 1956 BSA Gold Star that's on display (minus the brakes).
Tom opened a small motorcycle repair shop on Sunnyside Road in Glens Falls, NY (now Queensbury, NY) and the love of motorcycles was not lost on the rest of the McDermott family or the Sunnyside neighborhood for that matter, as there was a huge dirt track for riding in the back of the McDermott property. Tom McDermott became a Harley-Davidson dealer in the summer of 1978 and it has been a McDermott family venture ever since.
The dealership moved 7 miles east onto Route 4 in Fort Ann, NY in 1996. We doubled the size of our showroom in 2003, we built an additional storage building and also opened our seasonal retail location in Lake George in 2006 and had a total showroom renovation in 2012.
McDermott's Harley-Davidson is a year-round Full Service Dealership with certified technicians, a knowledgeable Parts and Motorclothes staff and decades of experience all around.
We are constantly learning and growing and love to share our true passion for the art of motorcycling with our oldest friends and the ones we have yet to meet.
