  • Message I am 49, married for 31 years, father of two beautiful daughters, two beautiful grandchildren, a 12 year old granddaughter and a new grandson. Yes, I did everything early, got on the job at 19, forced to retire at 42 due to injuries I received in a serious fall on the job, but it could have been much worse, like dead worse. I've had numerous surgeries since, a new hip at 42, needed it at 38 , Workmens Comp in Ohio isn't there for the injured worker, as any injured worker in Ohio can tell you. The Doc's are always trying to put more metal in me but I have avoided it so far. It's coming though. I was hurt bad but returned to work about a year later despite all of the "experts" saying I would be lucky to walk let alone work. I miss it every day, what a great job, I looked forward to going to work even though I worked on one of the busiest Companies in Cleveland, Rescue 1. I take every day as it comes, ride as much as I can, I have helped raise my granddaughter since she was a baby and I still take care of her, and always will. She has been more like our daughter. My wife likes to ride with me, she is still a knockout and is about the same build as when we married, very petite and very hot, hell, most women half her age would kill for her body and that's no bullshit. We are the same age and have known each other since the second grade. We were friends for a long time before we ever got serious with each other. Hell in High School two weeks was a long relationship for me, I didn't see the point of being tied down for a guy or girl, it was time to have fun and meet as many people as you could. Married thirty one years and have been through a lot together and still going strong. We love to travel, dine out, ride, listen to music, I have a wide taste in music, Rock and the Blues always will be my favorite but I listen too Irish and Celtic music, Classical, some Jazz pretty much anything but the crap that they pass off as Country these days, no way in hell, I like real Country. I read a lot, I know a lot about computers, remodeling, we just recently traded our ninety year old completely remodled house for a six year old one in the burbs. It's taking a lot of getting used to for me, I liked living in the City, we were real close to the Metroparks, the gem of Cleveland and one of the greatest accomplishments the City's leaders ever made. It's a park system nicknamed the Emerald Necklace that runs countywide all the way around the city and the best place to hop on your bike and ride on a hot day, you can ride it all the way to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, which is just miles of incredible riding and scenery, we used to be less than five minutes from an entrance, I miss that more than anything. That's about it. Enjoy life, it's too damn short as it is, so live each day like it's your last, none of us knows when it may be!

Welcome, Northern Ohio, not good for riding thisyear, the most rain in recorded weather history. The best time of year for riding, Fall, was a complete washout. Can feel the bone chilling cold of Winter coming already. It's like being a Cleveland Sports fan, wait till next year?
