I love readin' the Summer posts.  The Pic's...the rides. And I still feel that moment.  When you know it's time to cover "her" for the season, to come. I'll never forget that.  How I hated, and dreaded that.  How, it meant months of limb-numbing cold.  And the month's spent, dreamin' of that FIRST good weather day.  Just to RIDE.  It's been more season's for me, than I can say.  (or want too...) And I'm startin' to doubt, that I CAN ride...like I used to. I'm a BUNCH older now.  And then there's the cell-phones. Damn, the CELL-PHONES!!!  I'm old enough to know, I've seen too many go down, because of a cage-drivin' narcissist,  and their damn NEED to be adored....    less

female learning to ride by herself
so here it goes. Got the bike up and going and well the boyfriend is no longer in the picture (left way before the bike was ready). Got the bike up and going and well the boyfriend is no longer in the picture (left way before the bike was ready). So took it out on the side roads -- nervous as can be (found out that isn't cool on handleing the bike so had to keep telling myself to relax -- helped until got into s bit of traffic). A person I met took me to the school to practice and was totally different and more relaxed. Problem is I don't have that opportunity very often so it's on my own basically. YES I will be doing the riders safety course WHEN I can afford to but right now out of the picture. So how did you learn on your own and not be so scared of everything?!?!  less

Hi everyone, made the trip to Sturgis this year and are hoping to make it back for the 75th. Friends made the 900 mile ride on their new ultra and me and the wife met them in Chamberlain. Admit we trailered -- wife ass gets sore after 150 miles and even bought her a new airhawk seat cushion. Does help but non the less with the truck we were able to haul everything we needed and extra for friends that rode bikes!! Stay in Deadwood and enjoy the day trips. Catch the trolly for a buck down town Deadwood at night. Did a few small tips in Wisconsin this summer -- we live in Northern Illinois and Wisconsin has some great places for a weekend trip. Dam this summer has gone by to dam fast !! Hate to say it but I need to get the sleds ready soon, last winter hit early and often ! Safe travels

Had a great time doing the day trips through the Black hills , Spearfish,Nemo, Custer, Needles, Iron Mountain trail off 16 across from Rushmore, Hot Springs, and of course Sturgis !! Had a Awesome week

Here in northern Illinois the local county colleges offer classes.  Only $20 and after you pass they mail you a card that you bring to the dmv and you get your new license.   No test to take at dmv.    They provide bikes and helmets.    Usually classes are filled but by mid summer you can go on a Friday night and get on a waiting list for those that decide not to show.   Great class and after a year you can go back for a advanced rider course.    Good luck
