RIP Dad

    As most of the family already knows my Dad (Clarence Mercer) pasted away on 12/4/13. After going through some photos (and getting back from Az) I've found these two photos and blended them together. The one on the left is me (in the back) and Dad. In the last year we switched places and I gave him his first ride on a Harley. There are no words other than to say I will miss him very much.

    Thats awesome you had a good relationship with your FatherSorry for your loss,yet he is in a better place now.You have great memorys of him and that makes all the difference.Thanks for sharing this.I sincerely hope you have a good Christmas,I know its tuff after the loss of a loved one.

    Know how ya feel. Got my Dads Flag and Photo on the mantel. Moms also.

    I know how u feel, my dad passed away 21 years ago. If it is any consolation, your dad passed on a great day. I arrived in this world on that very same day 56 years ago.

    I avoid using the phrase "I know how you feel" because in many situations it is misused. You have to walk that mile in someone elses shoes for it to apply.
    I have walked that mile.

    I lost my dad 6 years ago and it still seems like it was just yesterday. I'm not going to say it gets easier as time goes on, but it does get less painful.

    It was a privledge for me to help care for and spend every precious last moment with him during his last days. My heart goes out to you and yours.

    I am not a highly religious person, but know this, you will be with him again one day.
